The Comprehensive College Planning Package has EVERYTHING your student needs to succeed in their college planning season.
Selecting a college or university is one of the most important decisions of a student’s life. We plot a course early on to maximize their long-term success.
Sign up for a telephone or video chat to talk through expectations, student performance & development, and educational goals. This will determine a starting point for potential work together and a chance to get to know each other.
With the standardized testing burden ever increasing during high school, the goal is to devise a manageable testing schedule that meets college requirements while demonstrating a student’s strengths. A review of PSAT or PreACT testing is done to determine most appropriate test and test preparation. Test-optional or flexible testing policies are also discussed and the test accommodations.
Work with student, coaches, private instructors to support talent (art, music, athletics, service, special interests) during high school and to document it for the college application process. Suggestions are made for extracurricular opportunities, summer programs or internships, plus consistent support for athletic recruiting, audition and portfolio requirements.
Weighing all factors shared by student and family, a preliminary list is delivered 11th grade spring with specific suggestions for campus visits. With feedback from visits, second semester grades & testing, a final list is delivered at the end of 11th grade, with specific suggestions for beginning application requirements over summer.
With the most important factor in a student’s college admission file being the challenging coursework they take; yearly advice and recommendations are made to guide a student to excel in strength areas and to meet curriculum requirements.
Advice is provided to maximize campus visits, to request and be successful with alumni & admission interviews, to seek out decision-makers and file-readers throughout the process.
Since students can submit online applications to many colleges easily, some colleges are tracking student engagement to determine which students are truly interested in enrolling. We identify where and how to demonstrate student interest.
We are not financial advisors or financial aid consultants. However, our experience and knowledge of merit (non-need based) aid, scholarship programs and institutional aid will be brought to bear on final list and application to maximize aid offered. Basic FAFSA and CSS Profile submission support is included.
Includes review and submission support of visual/audio portfolios, help with resumes & repertoire required for pre-screening submissions and auditions, highlight video review and talking points for coach conversations during showcases and official athletic visits.
Using conversation, writing / brainstorming exercises, we help a student develop several genuine written pieces about their experiences and outlook. Supplemental essays are also developed after final list is known. A reasonable number of drafts are reviewed for each essay.
With student-provided login information and adherence to our timeline, a thorough review of online applications is done, picking up typographical errors, and checking for completion. Timely corrections are sent to student for action. (On-time submission of application and payment of fees is the responsibility of students and families.)
